Brunswick Forest from Prairie Moon Quilts

It’s here! The new Block-of-the-Month for Sew Sweet Quilt Shop!

This year’s quilt is a sampler of trees, hence the name Brunswick Forest. Twelve different tree blocks, set into an asymmetrical setting, just as a forest would actually be. As always, we do two versions of the quilt, just for more options.

Here is the fall-colored version:

Here is the non-traditional version:

Both versions measure 80″ x 95″ finished, and have pieced scrappy backgrounds. You can choose to add in the extra small Maple Leaf blocks (as in the fall-colored version), or leave them out for more negative ...

Kathy’s Ramble from Prairie Moon Quilts

Were you aware that the simple patchwork pinwheel block has many names? One of those names is “Kathy’s Ramble”.

When I designed the Arrow Rock Sampler quilts, I included this block in the quilt in honor of Kathy Borgman, who runs Borgman’s Bed & Breakfast in the Village of Arrow Rock. It’s where I’ve stayed every year during the Arrow Rock Quilt Camp.

I can’t even begin to say enough good things about Kathy. I just love her! Every year during Camp, she let me have a full HALF of the upstairs of her house all ...

Wyoming Valley Winter from Prairie Moon Quilts

I have a new pattern out! And believe it or not, I actually made a Christmas quilt this year!

When I introduced Loretta’s Farm and Garden Samplers back in August, I included the traditional block, Wyoming Valley, designed by Nancy Cabot, as one of the blocks in the sampler.

My Cowboy has spent a lot of time in Wyoming, and he loves it there, and I love the block, so I wanted to make an entire quilt out of it.

I decided since I also wanted to make a quilt using only solids, and winter is fast approaching, that ...

Ol’ Glory from Prairie Moon Quilts

Introducing . . . the 2020 Prairie Moon Ranch Cowboy Christmas Stocking . . .

Ol’ Glory!

I’ve been wanting to make a boot like this since the beginning, and I finally got my act together. I went to visit my cousin a couple weeks ago, and he was wearing a pair of boots just like this — haha! I told him “good choice”.

Ol’ Glory makes #13 in the annual series of Prairie Moon Ranch Cowboy Christmas Stockings. I had thought I would quit after #12, but I can’t. I still have so many boot ideas, so I’m gonna keep on going.

The ...

The Arrow Rock Sampler from Prairie Moon Quilts

Today I’m happy to be introducing The Arrow Rock Sampler Block-of-the-Month program!

The Village of Arrow Rock, Missouri, is a historical little village where, once you enter, you’re transported back in time, where things move a little slower, everything’s a lot quieter, there’s no cell phone signal, no traffic, and the birds are really happy! Cute little specialty shops, a few wonderful restaurants, lots of pretty flowers, a famous Lyceum Theater, friendly people, and several buildings of great historical significance to the village can also be found in Arrow Rock.

Every May, Paula and Larry Blevins ...

Rodeo Queen from Prairie Moon Quilts

Merry Christmas!!

I realize I’m terribly late getting this year’s Prairie Moon Ranch Cowboy Boot Christmas Stocking published, but what better day than today to be late with it, huh?

This year’s stocking is called “Rodeo Queen”. I’ve been wanting to make a mostly white stocking for several years, and Rodeo Queen is my attempt to do that. Not technically white, but it did turn out just like I wanted. She’s a bit fancier with her higher heel this year!

The embroidery on this one is simple, and there are only 3 applique pieces, so ...
